Hi, I’m Amanda.

I am a PhD student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in the Department of Life Sciences Communication.

I am a social science researcher whose work focuses on the dimensions of environmental and science communication, social media and social movements. I am driven to understand how climate change and other environmental issues are communicated online. Research topics include how the youth global climate movement uses social media to mobilize towards action, how corporations use environmental activism in marketing and how the visualization of science can inform behavioral change.

I am originally from Southern California, attended UC San Diego for my bachelor’s degree and recently completed a Master’s degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. I like to hike, do yoga, travel, bike, trail run, drink good coffee and beer, snowboard, read and recently, crochet.
