Hi, I’m Amanda.

I am a doctoral student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in the Department of Life Sciences Communication.

As a social scientist, I research environmental and science communication, especially through visual communication, documentary film, social media and social movements. I examine how the framing of science and environmental topics (like climate change, wildfires, prescribed burning) impacts audience’s attitudes, emotions and behaviors.

I am originally from Southern California, received a B.A. in communication from UC San Diego, and an M.S. in public communication and technology from Colorado State University.
